Information We Collect
We collect information you provide when creating an account, including your name, email address, phone number, and M-Pesa number. When you make a payment or receive a payout, we collect transaction data including amount, time, and payment provider reference. We also collect usage data such as request content, event details, and interaction timestamps.
How We Use Your Information
Your information is used to operate the Selekta platform: process tips and payouts, display your name and request content on the live queue, maintain the artist leaderboard, and send service-related communications (payment confirmations, email verification, M-Pesa confirmation). We do not sell your personal data to third parties.
Data Sharing
We share necessary data with Safaricom (M-Pesa) to process STK push payments and B2C payouts. Fan names and request content are visible to the event artist and on the venue screen. Artist profile information (name, handle, bio, avatar, tip total) is publicly visible on the discovery leaderboard and artist profile pages.
Data Retention
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. Transaction records are retained for regulatory compliance. You may request account deletion at any time through your settings, which will remove your personal data within 30 days.
Security
We implement industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest, token-based authentication, and rate limiting on API endpoints. However, no method of electronic storage is 100% secure. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential.
